I receive a magazine called "Doubletake".  The latest issue -
Summer,,,, 
2001 (Vol.7., no. 3) on Pages 78-85 has an article, "Haitian Artists Paint 
History" with paintings by Peters  Stephanie, Nemours Vincent, Ernst 
Prophete, Gary Dorsssstainvil, Paul Jean-Pierre and Gerad Fortune.   It 
relates how the paintings document the nation's past turbulence.
