- Invasions from the D.R. were terrible flops. Disunity and petty bickering were the causes. (Plus the tough terrain.)
- 1963 totals for maintaining armed forces was about 50% of national budget, about $15 million.

- Heinl, p. 622 talks of CIA support of various revolutionaries in 1960s up to 1968. There was a Nov. 1975 investigation.
