John Baptiste DERUNTZ (1819-1892) and Josephine HORNY(1818-1907)

were married 1843 in Altenbach, France and were the parents of the following children.

  • Basilisse DERUNTZ(1844-1917) married Peter SHOB (Schaub)(1834-1906) in St. Louis, Missouri. They began their family in St. Louis, eventually moving to New Albany, Indiana where their family grew to 9 Children; Joseph, Basilisse, Josephine, Francis, Elizabeth, Barbara,Rosa, Gertrude and Theodore Joseph Schaub. Basilisse was also step mother to Peter (1858-1884) and Mary (1862-1935).


  • Joseph DERUNTZ (1845-1879) he never married, sadly he died at age 34 in St. Louis, Missouri.


  • Aloyse DERUNTZ(1847-1910) married Amelia DIEDRICH (1858-1910) in St. Louis, Missouri. Aloyse and Amelia had 8 children; George, Blanche, Sybilla (Belle), Mable, Emily Henrietta, Ludorcia (Lulu), Minnie and Alois.


  • Bruno DERUNTZ (1849-1850) died in Altenbach, France.


  • Emilie DERUNTZ (1851-1934) married Englibert (Albert) VOGT (1847-1902) in St. Louis, Missouri. The couple had 8 children; Robert, Alphonse, Selena, Joseph, Agatha, Eugene, Marie and John Baptiste Vogt.


  • Henriette (Harriet) DERUNTZ(1846-1879) married Louis LANG in St. Louis, Missouri. They had 4 children; Frank, Alois, Emil and baby Serenna who sadly, died as an infant.


  • Francoise DERUNTZ (1854-1855) died in Altenbach, France.


  • Xavier (Frank) DERUNTZ(1856-1942) married Elizabeth "Lizzie" DOTT. The couple raised 5 children in Cedar Hill, Missouri; Emile, Josephine, Elizabeth (Lizzie), Emily and Marie DeRuntz.


  • John Baptiste DERUNTZ(1858-1920+) married Wilhelmina Emily "Minnie" HELM. The couple had 5 children; Ruth, Naomi, Arthur, John Baptiste III and Geraldine.


  • Emil DERUNTZ (1860-1883) died from a gunshot after leaving church on a Sunday in Cedar Hill, Missouri


  • Eugene DERUNTZ (1863-1938) married Cora CARTWRIGHT in Granite City, Illinois. The couple had 5 children; Ophelia, Alonzo, Iral, Armenta and Pheophield Joseph.
