Corbett notes: Julie Duane is my Tamm Ave. neighbor. She is also a wonderful poet of both humerous and serious poetry. Julie was born in 1920 in HUmboldt, Tennessee. At age 17 she began playing the piano and singing in a trio with her two sisters. Later she moved on to play with many different bands, playing every sort of music from 1930s-40s, to jazz, modern pop, even rock and roll. Julie, now 82 years of (2003) still plays "gigs" around St. Louis.

Julie has lived in Dogtown the past 24 years.
