14504: Mason: Re Chavalier 14502 (fwd)

"... we need a leader with experience who's willing to make some sacrifices
and turn things around drastically. Perhaps someone who's already wealthy to
the point stealing won't be his main objective. Someone who has experience
with financing and managing people. Someone who deeply care[s] about the
country and the people who have been suffering for too long. Two hundred
years to be exact."
Such could also describe a benign or benevolent dictator, enthroned because
of his own personal investment into his own Presidency. Another ONE PERSON to
answer all of Haiti's ills.
The attributes you state above do not include specifications for type of
government. Or how that government gets validated.
No introduction of a new "good guy" is the quick solution for "working around
the Haitian Constitution".
Haiti has an already-existing Constitutional foundation, followed upon by 3
straight democratic elections (give or take uprisings and coups along the
way), upon which to build its future.
Malcontents who didn't get their wish in the first 3 Haiti elections (no
matter how many gunmen or demonstrators or publicists or journalists they
hired) need to already be well into planning their next election campaign,
NOT daily planning for the demise of the current democratically-elected
President.
Here's a message to Haiti's malcontents: Grow up! Get real! Organize a
campaign instead of hit squads! Face the Haitian People via the election
process!
