16260: Dorce:Re: 16211: Clotildec6: NCHR Gets its Act Together! Finally! (fwd)

<< in light of the blatant moves by the Aristide government in recent days to
involve the police & the judiciary in an attempt to physically eliminate
leaders of the civil society movement & the opposition - for an institution like
the NCHR to be trying to play the judge & paternalistically split the blame
for the current wave of violence in Haiti on "all the actors". This kind of "
Plon Gaye" can benefit only one party: those who have 100% control of all three
powers in Haiti. And the NCHR should know that!

This kind of message, under the current circumstances, make people wonder
whether NCHR is now following on the footsteps of TransAfrica, the Black Caucus,
Sen. Christopher Dodd & all the others who have been in one way or another at
the receiving end of the millions that the Aristide camp is spending in
Washington to shine their image while they keep strangling the country
economically, socially, morally, politically. .. >>

May I say it's about damn time the NCHR sees that it's not one man doing the
dirty deeds in Haiti but many and not all on one side of the political
spectrum. The outrage has been so one-sided you'd think that only the deaths of a
few matter and the deaths of those on the Lavalas side mean nothing. Or
Clotilde, do you think Lavalas is doing all the killing, even of their own, just to
put the blame on the opposition? Please. This is a war for power. Those who
are not president are outraged that a miracle didn't happen for them, because
it would have taken a miracle for someone who did no campaigning, no talking
to the people (not the special ones at the top....ALL the people) no research
into what the people want for their lives (because who cares, right?) to be
voted in as president. They all think the US (read Morally Repugnant
Republicans) will take Aristide out and put them in!

Anyone who sees this as a one sided tragedy is missing an opportunity to see
the real situation and therefore will be impotent to change anything. Poor
Haiti!
