Vilaire is right, all human groups use their anatomy for emphasis (as in “Five years, my ass!”).  The French have the same anal preoccupation with their “cul.”  And since we’re all waxing scatological, how about:

“Ki te mele bounda m si Aristid tonbe sou bounda l”
(What is it my concern if Aristide fell down on his ass)

“Nèg la sou po bounda l, l ap fè frekan”
(The guy is on his ass [broke] and he’s bragging)

Or Batay Ouvriye’s more poetic and to the point:
“Lavalas ak lopozisyon boujwa se 2 bò bounda nan yon menm kanson chire”
(Lavalas and the bourgeois occupation are two rotten buttocks in the same torn trousers)

Apparently inspired by a Franketienne poem by the same title, Grenn nan Bounda (as in “Grenn nan bounda fòk Aristid ale!”) was the street name of the Dec. 5th democratic movement which started on that date at the Faculté des Sciences Humaines, and from there spread like a wild prairie fire throughout the country.  “Grenn nan bounda” is what it took to stand up to the terror of the Lavalas militias.  It is the modern equivalent of the heroic “Grenadye alaso / Sa ki mouri zafè a yo” of 200 years ago...
