#2477: Images of Voodoo in the 21st century : Grey responds to Perrault

<< I think you should care if the religion is getting a bad reputation to
correct any
misinterpretation by non practitioners. I know it is not an African
religion, what I was asking is understanding components that are incorporated
withtin the religion. For example if you look at the Catholic religion and
find adaption from Judaism versus non-judaic themes.>>

Well, I DON'T CARE about "making Vodou respectable to non-practitioners"
(read, white people, mostly). We are not going to conduct ourselves based on
the opinion of practitioners of some other religion which has been
persecuting us for centuries anyhow! :-) If we have a "bad reputation", it
was created BY THEM to OPPRESS US.
<<You said believe in "God". What is the interpertation of God in Vodou?>>

There is only one God - Bon Dieu, Grand Maitre, Dios, Allah, I don't care
what you call God, there is only one God.

<< Erzulie Dantor (don't quote me) is holding Christ the child in her image
of the lady of Chechtahovda(?) What is the interpration of Jesus Christ in

Jesus Christ is not a Vodou lwa, Jesus Christ is a spiritual entity in

<< PS: Who is SHANGO represented or related to in Vodou?>>

Even thought the question wasn't for me, I'll tell you - Ogoun Shango.
Obatala becomes Ogoun Batala, etc.

Peace and love,
