HAITIANS MUSIC STARS HOLD BENEFIT CONCERT FOR WTC VICTIMS


NEW YORK - The biggest assortment of Haitian musical stars will gather at
the Manhattan Center on Friday November 16, 2001 for a benefit concert.
The unprecedented gathering of the top Haitian celebrities will showcase the
Haitian community's wide artistic talents. Proceeds from the concert, which
is expected to fill the Center's Grand Ballroom, will go to Haitian families
of the victims of the World Trade Center Attack.
Many of the artists put aside deep personal differences and animosities to
unite and perform for a worthy cause.
"We want to show New York and the world that the Haitian community is as
effected by this tragedy," said Mario De Volcy, a drummer and one of the
organizers of the concert. "We just couldn't  sit there and do nothing."
The show, will feature more than 20 solo artists and bands, including:
Larose, Magnum Band, New York All Stars, Phantoms Shleu Shleu, Skah Shah
Sweet Micky, Tabou Combo, Zenglen, Zin Michelange Bazile, Raymond Cajuste,
Maryse Coulange, Carles Dessalines, Mario De Volcy, Myriam Dorisme, Maggy
Forest, Yveline Fugcap, Smith Jean-Baptiste, Georgy Metellus, Emeline
Michel, Ti Plume,  Philomene Polycard, Vivian Rangon, Paulette St. Lot,
Zshea, Carline Keil and many more.

The Manhattan Center is located at 311 W. 34th Street. Donations are $25 and
$50 for balcony seating. This is an event not to be missed.
