Haiti's Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Finance Will Hold a Press Briefing - 12/6/01
PR Newswire - USA; Dec 5, 2001

The press is invited to attend a morning breakfast briefing with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Joseph Antonio, and Economy and Finance, Mr. Faubert Gustave, from the Government of Haiti on December 6, 2001. The event will be held at 8:00 a.m. at the City Club Restaurant located at 555 13th Street, NW, in Washington, DC.

Haiti's Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Economy and Finance will be visiting Washington, December 6 and 7, 2001, to hold discussions with the Administration and Congress about recent political and economic developments in Haiti and the current U.S. hold on critical humanitarian and development loans from the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). The Ministers are invited to Washington to brief the Congressional Black Caucus on Thursday, December 6, 2001. This invitation comes just weeks after the CBC sent a letter to President Bush asking for a face-to-face meeting to discuss U.S. policy toward Haiti and the IADB issue in particular.

Former Congressman Ron Dellums will host the event and it will last approximately one and one half hours with ample time for questions.
