As a director, Doug Finlayson is a true craftsman, allowing these talented actresses to explore these complex roles in ways that bring them to life on stage. His guidance is spot on, deftly mining this piece for the humor and heart beneath the intellect. BROADWAYWORLD.COM

Mustard Seed’s “Eleemosynary” is a Winning Character Study. With such an emotional story and complex characters, casting is essential in a play like this. Mustard Seed and director Doug Finlayson have assembled a talented, fully invested cast to tell this story. SNOOPS THEATRE THOUGHTS

Not sure how many times local theatres have produced Lee Blessing’s “Eleemosynary” but I’ve seen it several times over the years. The current presentation at Mustard Seed Theatre is definitly one of the best. Doug Finlayson has directed the show with that flair for bringing the best out of each player and moves the play along at a crisp clip. STAGEDOORSTL.COM

Under Doug Finlayson’s direction, Weber, Lewis and Bohmer give poised, well modulated performances on the imaginative set, designed by Kyra Bishop and lit by Michael Sullivan. ST. LOUIS POST DISPATCH

Finlayson keeps his performers focused on their own roles as well as working seamlessly together at a steady and comfortable pace. As a result, frequent shifts in time and place are handled smoothly and clearly. LADUE NEWS
